23 Years Old Gynecomastia For 3 Years

Im am 23 years old and have had mild gynecomastia in one breast tissue for the past 3 years. I saw a doctor about this 2 years ago and he assured me that i had no serious medical condition and not to worry about it.He gave increased estrogen production as the reason behind it. 2 Years on the symtoms have not improved or gotten worse. Should i go back and see the doctor again to re evaluate? Do i need to worry about issues such as fertility?

Thank you in advance

Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
As I said earlier consult your doctor. Your PCP will be a good place to start with. There could be several reasons for your problem. The earlier the things are caught, the easier is the treatment.
Please discuss this with your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
This is a specialist in Medicine—a doctor who has done a post graduate in Medicine. Your PCP would be a good referral point. You can look up in local directories too.

Hope this helps.  Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Most often gynaecomastia is asymptomatic. This does not mean that there is no underlying problem. It is usually due to an abnormal kidney function, abnormal liver function, due to side effects of drugs, hormonal problems, certain tumors which secrete hormones etc. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Take another doctor’s opinion or get a referral for an Internal medicine specialist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
