I am posting regarding my son who is 29 years old. He has had pain in both legs for the past two years along with some balance issues, nothing I've noticed; he said his legs seem so heavy and on occasion, one gives out for a second. He hasn't had any injuries or accidents.
He has saw his regular doctor and was given tramandol, which does not help with the pain. He has tried several things including narcotics from the doctor, but nothing gets rid of his pain.
The pain is pretty much non stop, no matter if he's active, sitting, standing, or laying down.
The pain was so bad that he did go to the ER and a EMG has been scheduled, it's just the waiting . The pain he describes is chronic and nonstop. He does have some leg tremor at times when he applies pressure a certain way on his legs. He has also had had tremors off and on for about 10 years. Two doctors said it was too much caffeine.
He says the pain is hard to describe. The last couple weeks it seems to have started to affect his arms. His arms and legs both feel heavy to him.
He is 6' tall and only weighs about 130 pounds. He's always been thin. He has not been active much for the last couple years. I'm not sure if this is a contributing factor or a symptom from being tired all the time.
His eye sight and skin color seem to be good. Occasionally he gets a really sharp pain in his chest.
Originally I thought he was suffering from depression and social anxiety disorder.
The doctor did say that he had hypersensitive reflexes and wasn't sure if that was a symptom. He has been treated for RLS with requip, which did not help. I am freaking out some I guess and looking not for a diagnosis, possibly some thoughts as to what could be causing the ongoing pain in both legs, which is possibly affecting his arms now
I would appreciate any thoughts.
Thank you for your time.
