My throat looks inflamed but it does not hurt.  I have been to my Dr. and they always just say its from post nasal drip and either prescribe me allergy medicine or an antibiotic.  My question is has my Dr.'s diagnosis been correct or should I go get another Dr.'s opinion?

That makes it sound more viral. Some viruses this year have lasted a long time. My husband has had a cough for months. The doctor said it wasn't  pneumonia or bronchitis just a virus hanging on. I have heard a lot of people this year with this kind of thing. It could still be both allergy and virus.

Thanks for your response.  Just hacking up mucus every once in a while now.  I did just get over something recently that I caused me to have sinus headaches and coughing for about 2 weeks.

From what you describe the doc sounds correct. It is probably allergy related. Any other symptoms?
