Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well yes, menopause can be a cause. However, the first thing to be ruled out is angina and heart attack—again something common in menopausal women. Hence a 12 lead EKG is a must.
Otherwise it can be a bad gastric reflux, costochondritis, muscle pull, or even shingles. It can also be pulmonary embolism—again a serious thing and needs urgent chest CT.
All in all consult a doctor immediately—maybe go to the ER if that’s the fastest route.
Take care!
Hi,
I had the same symptoms quite a few years back and had it checked. It was all down to an anxiety attack. Have never heard that menopause can cause this, but I suggest you have it looked at by your Doctor.
