Black Vision ?

Hello,

I've been experiencing what I can only describe as black vision, if I have been lying down for a period of time or sitting still for a period of time if I try and get up at a normal to fast speed I experience loss of vision and all I can see is black spots, this cause's me to also lose my balance and I usually have a headache.

Any idea's what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Ryan

I had this and when i went into emergency (for dizziness) the doctor told me the following:  if you stand up and feel dizzy or see the black spots, chances are your body is not receiving all it's vitamins.... weird, I know.  Anyways after my blood tests came back my magnesium and potassium levels were so low, they thought the machine was broken.  I was put on magnesium and potassium supplements for a few weeks.... He also said to take a daily vitamin - that way your body is receiving some of the vitamins that you may miss in your daily food consumption.....  I've been good since!!  But as Dr. Foot said.... it could be something a little more serious.... check it out with your doctor.

Hello,
This condition is known as Postural Hypotension, it has no relation to a neck problem. This basically is a drop in blood pressure that occurs when a person assumes a standing or upright position, usually after a prolonged period of rest but not always. This occurs as a normal physiological function but can affect some people more then others, this is the most likely diagnosis. In addition it could indicate overuse of particular drugs such as MAOI's and/or particular diseases such as diabetes.

Regards
