Blood test with low RBC, HCT and CA

I am a 46 yr white female who had blood test levels  that were slightly low in RBC and HCT.  I had the labs repeated again 6 mths later and not only are the RBC and HCT low, now the CA is low.  The levels are as follows (RBC 3.71, HCT 34.7 and CA 8.4).  Should I be concerned and have my primary care physician refer me to an oncologist?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The test results mean you have anemia. You need to consult a hematologist to find the cause. Electrophoresis of hemoglobin, Vit B12, kidney and liver function tests and other such tests will be required. You also have low calcium. Hence magnesium, Vit D, poshphates and parathyroid gland function should be assessed. You could also be having osteoporosis. If you do not eat well, all this could be due to nutritional deficiency. If you have gut issues then IBS, Crohn’s etc can also cause nutritional deficiencies. It can even be a malabsorption syndrome.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!
