Burning Sensation - Right Side of Head

I have had a tiggling, burning sensation on the right side of my head, from the temple to the ear. It comes and goes, and the burning sensation was more intense last week. This week seems mild in comparison. Everything else seems to be normal. What do you think this is, and should I be concerned?

Thank you for commenting on my situation.
All symptoms have subsided now. It was painful when I had it.
It's strange that my replies/comments suggest Shingles. I have neard the word "Shingles" as much as I have this year. I have 3 people who are close to me who have had it. Only one that I came in contact with. I know shingles is not new, and I'm in the age bracket (and my friends), 60 - 70, to get it. I am now seriously considering the vaccine for Shingles.
Do you know anything about this? Comments"
Thank you again for taking the time.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well yes, consult a doctor. It could be a localized blood clot or it could be a nerve compression. It can also be a patch of dry skin or eczema or even shingles.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination.
Take care!

You might have a mild case of shingles.  I would have it checked because if shingles, the burning and pain will increase.  With this being close to your eye area as well I would be concerned with shingles in your eye.
