Burning Vein in arm

What are the repercussions if someone was to get injected with extremely hot liquid into the main vein in the middle of the arm? Would this need to considered an emergency and need to rush to an E.R. or could one recover on their own?

Thank you for your response! I ended up watching it myself and the swelling did finally receed. My arm is doing better besides a bad case of ringworm.  I am treating that as well as I can and am not injecting anymore.  Thank you for showing that there are people out there who have care for others!! God bless you.

Hi,

It’s very difficult to comment as it will depend on many factors like how hot the liquid is, what is the amount of liquid that is injected , how rapidly it is injected etc. I think it will invariably lead to an emergency room visit as it will not only lead to local burns but also can lead to infection in the blood which can rapidly spread to other areas and also an inflammation of the vein in which it is injected which itself is quite painful.

Hence, it will lead to ER visit in majority of the cases.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.

Kind Regards.
