Could my symptoms be hemorrhoids or genital herpes?

Hello there,

This is an awkward topic to discuss but recently I’ve been having a multitude of problems/symptoms and I’m a 17 year old female so I’m a little nervous to ask my family to take me to the doctor for this. My significant other and I have been having anal sex recently (unprotected) and shortly after this last time we did this (last week) little red bumps started popping up around the anus and it is extremely raw there. It’s hard to pass bowel movements as well. I figure this is just hemorrhoids but it makes me nervous because he hasn’t been checked in awhile and shortly before we had gotten together he had slept with numerous people. If anyone could give me any tips or suggestions on what’s going on I’d greatly appreciate it.

Hello~In all honesty, I truly think you should be seen by your doctor, you may very well have contracted herpes, and they will not get better without the proper treatment. I am sorry I can not be of more help, but when it comes to issues like this, I always believe it is best to see your physician.
