Daily Headaches

I have been having headaches daily for about 7 months now, they are always on the back right side of my head in the Occipital region. I have been to the chiropractor, a physical therapist for neck issues, I have taken 2 different muscle relaxants, I have had a CT and MRI of my head and an MRI of my neck an EEG and been started on Lyrica.  I also have taken upon myself to monitor my blood glucose but I have not found any anomalies in the 2 weeks I have been testing.

I have chronic migranes but I get them maybe monthly, and these headaches when they get bad don't respond to my imitrex or midrin like my migranes do. the Lyrica has helped take the edge off but I still have headaches almost daily and they tend to put me in bed. I went to a neurlogist and when she heard that the lyrica helped some she said she would see me in 6 months. That was it.

Does anyone have any idea what else I can try to find out what is causing these headaches?!

Thank you SO much for mentioning this. I have started doing some research on it and it all seems to fit, it is never something I would have come up with on my own. I just discussed it with my parents and we are going to get me a different neurologist and get going on this. Thank you, seriously. If this is what it is it will change my life and possibly make my last 3 semesters in nursing school bearable.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
This could be a case of occipital neuralgia. I know you underwent a MRI of the cervical spine but maybe you should seek another opinion or undergo another MRI focusing only on C1-3 and also look at C1-2 instability.
A stiff neck due to muscle contraction can also cause occipital headaches. These can be treated with occipital nerve blocks. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your treating doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
