My "episodes". What's going on?

It seems every other month I go through these awful stomach issues. It sometimes will come out of no where, but other times I almost expect it. Last night, for example, I had a big greasy, fattening Torta from a really nice Mexican restaurant. I've eaten Tortas so many times in my life that I thought..."How would this be any different?". So of course, I ate it & it was WONDERFUL! Anyways, about an hour later I starting feeling these, what felt like, menstrual cramps & it being close to my menstrual cycle, it was no big deal at first. Then they got worse & worse & worse, until I felt like passing out from the pain. I knew something was off. I also knew that I just ate a big, greasy, fattening Torta & realized what needed to be done. I went to bathroom to sit on the toilet & wait. The cramps just kept coming & coming. I finally had my 1st BM & mentally started to feel a little relieved..."This will be over soon!". Oh was I wrong. It got so bad to the point of complete whitening of the face, sweat dripping all over my body, shakes & eventually blacking out for a few seconds.

Now, let me clarify something. This has been going on ever since I can remember childhood to now an adult w/ a family, even w/out eating a big, greasy, fattening Torta. This has happened in the middle of class, work & while riding my horses. This is definitely nothing new for me. When I about 14 yrs old my mother & I decided enough was enough & talked to my doctor. She asked me to log everything I ate for a month, especially when I would have my "episodes". I did. She said it looked like I wasn't getting enough calcium & I was put on vitamins. VITAMINS?!? As I'm sure you could imagine, this was NOT the cure I was hoping for because obviously I'm still suffering from them.

What is this & what should I do?!? Due to the economy I don't have as great of a paying job as I use to. So along w/ that came a more inexpensive form of healthcare. I would love to see a specialist, but I'm afraid I may not be able to afford it unless he/she exepts my new medical insurance.

Not just vitamins, but digestive enzymes....and for goodness sake, eat half the torta, and save some for tomorrow! In other words, dyspepsia is caused from eating too much! Your body can't digest all that food. Give it a rest! Try to eat more fruits and veges.  Drink low fat milk if you are not allergic. You could also have food allergies.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Your mother suggested the right thing. You log the food you eat for a week now (as you did in childhood) and see if there is some link. Take omeprazole 20 mg empty stomach in morning and antacid gels after meals. Take lactobacillus preparations or probiotics. See if this helps.  If not, you will need to consult a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system).
Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
