Experiencing odd/possibly unrelated symptoms?

I am eighteen years old and female. I have suffered from what seems to be chronic nausea for a number of years now. I always feel like I'm sick and I get carsick very easily, but I do not vomit. My stomach gets into knots at very random times, even if I have eaten.

When I was around fifteen years old, I used to experience chronic headaches as well as the nausea. My headaches always occurred in one general part of my head (lower left) and I'd have reoccurring headaches up to six times a day. I became sort of immune to Advil, and could only take Excedrin for relief of some kind.

About a year ago, while at work, I experienced something very troubling. It was close to the end of my shift and everything was fine, but all of a sudden I became really light headed and dizzy. With that my vision became impaired, to a point where I could only see "half of things." I even tried to read out a total to a customer and could only see half of each number. It was strange, but I did not feel sick. And it had not happened since.

I'm just sort of concerned, but afraid to know if something may be wrong. I was wondering if anyone had input into what this might be?

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Commonest cause of chronic nausea is acidity. Take omeprazole (empty stomach in morning) and antacid gel and see if it helps. Liver and kidney dysfunction is another cause. Hence kidney and liver function tests should be done. Other causes are diabetes and hypothyroidism. Electrolyte imbalance too can cause nausea. IBS, gluten or lactose intolerance, parasites in gut too can be the cause. A stool test should be done for worms, giardiasis etc. Also if nothing is found then food challenge test to detect food intolerance should be done.
The blackout like symptom you had could have been a TIA or ministroke, hypoglycemia, severe GERD, or anemia. Please consult a doctor ASAP and try and rule out these possibilities. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.  Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I would go to the doctor, tell him/her of your symptoms and hopefully they will order a brain scan to rule out tumor(s) & any blood vessel abnormality.  A lot of times migraine can cause visual disturbances and your description about recurring up to six times a day makes me think maybe you weren't suffering from typical migraine headaches.  You might want to get a referral to a neurologist.

You might see if they can test your female and thyroid hormonal levels to see if any of them are out of balance causing nausea.  I might also request a referral to a GI doctor to see if they can find out why I'm always nauseated & why the stomach goes in knots.   Has anyone suggested you might have irritable bowel syndrome?

You also might want to visit an opthamologist who can run a field of vision test to see if you have any deficits you aren't aware of.
