anyone have any insight? need advice! !

I will be the first to say I have general anxiety disorder and ocd!  Just a little background of when I started worrying.  A year ago I was cutting corn on farm and that night my left eye started getting irritated. I figured a piece of trash or something had gotten in my eye. Woke up with red irritated eye and felt like sand in it. Went to doctor he said infection viral or fungal. Finally cleared but developed slight double vision in one eye that after months has just about cleared.  3 months ago stomach virus came through work and I am very emetophobic.  Started having daily nausea and constantly worrying about catching virus. Well started looking up symptoms and I see nausea from brain tumor. I them started worrying bout tumor and this only added to nausea. I them read eye problems can mean tumor and then I put the two together and I have made myself sicker. I have not vomited at all and I don't ever have headaches. I believe it is my anxiety ocd because I think about it every min of every day. I mean the eye doctor checked my eye and optic nerve and it was ok. I just have nausea now and read it can be a sign. It's usually later in the day and not in morning.  When I stay busy the nausea has been a lot less noticeable.  It's prob just anxiety but the internet searching just makes it worse. This is not the first time I have had hypochondrIa like symptoms. I have done it about various other illnesses as well. OTher than this I am a happy go lucky guy !!  Just looking for advice. Oh and before this brain scare it was colon cancer with stomach pain and the nausea. NOw its moved to brain scare.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
First of all it is unlikely to be brain tumor as that would cause other signs also. Commonest cause of chronic nausea is acidity. Anxiety can exacerbate it. Take omeprazole (empty stomach in morning) and antacid gel and see if it helps. Liver and kidney dysfunction is another cause. Hence kidney and liver function tests should be done. Other causes are diabetes and hypothyroidism. Electrolyte imbalance too can cause nausea. IBS, gluten or lactose intolerance, parasites in gut too can be the cause. A stool test should be done for worms, giardiasis etc. Also if nothing is found then food challenge test to detect food intolerance should be done.
Since I cannot examine you and know other related conditions you may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I have listed the various possibilities that should be looked into. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Take care!

Have you seen a doc for the nausea?
Alas the brain tumor symptoms listed on line are pretty general - brain tumors are just not that common.
Please go see a doctor and get some assurance that you don't have one, and get treated for what you do have.

The eye doctor treated the eye problem. It eventually cleared but it seemed that after it cleared the vision in that eye was kinda blurry worse at times. But I realized it was actually
Monocular Diplopia. Even after the the doctor said it was an infection I still worried that it mightbe something bad. I always do that. Well now months later the eye is.clear 90 percent of the time.  It wasn't until my little boy came vomited one morning most likely due to too much candy did the nausea start.  Then ppl at work started getting virus and my anxiety went into over drive. I miraculously started feeling nauseous in fear of catching it. I'm that way. Well since then my mind has been on not contracting the stomach virus every day. Well I started looking up symptoms online which I do out of ocd and it only made matters worse. Every symptom can point to a brain tumor. Ha!  I have no history of any type of cancer in my family andI rarely get sick. Anxiety ocd and Fear of vomiting I believe are causing my nausea. When I hubw busy or talk about it it does pass. Just like two days ago I had greasy pizza which I love. It didn't set just right and I automatically started worrying about food poisoning. It's ridiculously stupid I know. One part knows I'm not living with a brain tumor but then there is that what if. All I know is that I did not have any nausea until ppl started coming down with the virus and in turn my anxiety started me worrying and this all started.  I never vomit from it.  Never have make sweats, dizziness, numbness, head aches, or anything. Although I have always had symptoms of IBS. Stomach pain reflux etc.

Have you been to a doctor?
Your eye issue should be looked at - I had double vision for years and years - but it was a muscle in my eye issue. I only get it when I am tired. The doc giving you the all clear on your optic nerve is a great sign that tumor is remote.

Daily nausea can be gastric and so many things that it is just not good enough to diagnose on its own.

Are you getting counseling to help you with this?
