Eye irritation caused by Tarn X

I may have gotten a little bit of Tarn x in my eye when polishing silver.  My eye was red and irritated the next day.  I have already flushed my eye with water and am using Zaditor antihistamine eye drops by recommendation of my pharmacist.  Also tried Visine.  My eye is still red, but not painful.  I do not have blurring of vision or watery eyes, just redness.  Is there anything else I can do to remove the redness?

Thank you for your advice.  I went to the clinic on Saturday and had the doctor look at my eye.  It turned out to be an eye infection (pink eye).  My eye did not have any abrasions or damage of any kind, just a lot of inflammation.  I am currently taking  antibiotic eye drops through Wednesday with instructions to return if the redness persists.  I appreciate your help.

The cleaner you splashed in your eye causes inflamation and irritation of tissue. In such a state the eye is a little more sensitive to infection. Usually such infections are treated by topical antibiotic drops (prescription ONLY). The eye usually heals on it's own, all things being equal.

The cool compresses are a good idea.

If the problem gets worse (more redness) don't hesitate to head for an emergency room.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The redness will go slowly. Wash your eyes as you have been doing. Anti-allergic eye drops help and will take 3-4 days to act completely and for the eye to regain its normal color. You can apply cool compress. If this redness persists beyond a week, consult an eye specialist.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
