Fed up with life.......5 years and no diagnosis

Any help would be appreciated.  For five years I have suffered with what ever this is.  As you can all expect I have been to EVERY doctor/specialist known to man, and many many many blood tests.  It all started not to long after I gave birth to my youngest child, I developed swollen lymph glands in my groin, thinking that it was something to do with my prgnancy i went to my OB/GYN who prescribed me antibiotics.  Not to long after that I developed swollen lymph glands under my arms and in my neck.  Also around the same time frame my joints started aching horrible and I also get low grade fevers and abdominal pain.  I also have an elevated white blood count with this and with in the last year have lost a lot of weight.  all my doctors can tell me is i am a medical mystery.  I live in a very small county and have very few choices when it comes to health care.  Lately I have been really down and have honestly thought of suicide to end my pain.  I dont know what else to do except swallow some more meds and hope that something comes of light before i get to low to come back up.

Have you considered any type of family diseases like auto immune, which would explain the high white blood cell count and swelled lymph nodes?  A good friend of mine has lupas and she just had a baby [it's been in remission for over 5 years] and this may explain it.  HIV is possible too - have you asked for a test for this, or have any of the doctor's suggested an MRI or to test anything out of the gland?  Tell them your concerns.

One more suggestion, make an appointment with a behavioral specialist. [pychologist, therapist etc...]  Here's the thing - you have a baby right?  I know from my own pain issues how difficult that is - but you're selling that child short if you end it because you can't figure out the reason for your pain right now.  Please, please, please call someone tommorrow and maybe they can get your anxiety about it to go down and refer you to a specialist for your condition.  Stay positive - you will figure it out ok?
Take care.

Have you been tested for a. ll STDs?  This truly sounds like it could be something pertaining to an STD to me.  I would get that checked out for sure!!  Especially since it all started around the time you gave birth.  Keep us posted!!

Hello,

Lumph node enlargement+low grade fever+joint pains+ loss of weight;all of them point towards infection like tuberculosis or a malignancy esp Hodgkin’s lymphoma.I sincerely advise you to consult a physician as soon as possible.FNAC lymph nodes along with a complete blood profile need to be done.

Hope it helps.Take care and regards.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.  I have been tested for HIV four times in five years. Tested for STD's I dont know how many times.  My grandmother has lupus and my mother RA, been to a rheumatologist and none of his tests come back positive.  I have also been to an oncologist and a hematologist, and neither seem to think that testing on the lymph nodes is needed, since my white blood count does not stay elevated all the time, it goes up and down.  I really have no idea where to go from here. Its all just very confusing and frustrating. Thanks for listening and your suggestions

Where is your pain at?  Maybe you should consider going to a world renowned clinic.

I'm reading more and more posts from women who have become very ill after giving childbirth. There are theories out there as to why this happens.

Anyhow, it sounds like you have either an infection (could be autoimmune). Of course you want to make sure that you get a biopsy done on one of your lymph nodes to rule out a more serious condition such as cancer. But I can tell you that many women now are having autoimmune problems after childbirth.

The pain is generally localized in my joints, they never swell, but they usually hurt all the time and stay very stiff, especially if i stay in one position for awhile.  Like in the AM when i get out of bed.  But recently i have been having pain that feels like it is also in my bones, I dont know if it is pain coming from my joints and radiating into other parts or if it is from something else.  I live so far away from big clinics and an not able to afford to travel, and my insurance is horrible.  The closest place I have is MCV and am not sure that they will have anything to offer me.  Platelet Gal:  If you could send me the source of the theories, I would like to read up on that.  What sort of auto-immune infections??
Thanks....I have had a CT scan and a bone density screening, does someone else suggest another test I should have done???  thank you very much.
