Feeling unwell

Hi all,

I need some help and advice.

I have recently gone through a rough couple of months, me and my wife lost a baby in October at the same time I found out that I had a abscess in my belly button which took a while to clear up. Since then i have been taking medicine for acid reflux (acid coming up, shortness of breath and tight chest), I am on Omeprazole 20mg once a day. For about the last 2 weeks i have had a gland up in my armpit as well as aches in my forearms and lower legs (not all the time, I get it more when i am resting).

I've had a private medical which all bloods etc came back fine, apart from i am over weight.

Not sure what else to look at, Doctors have said I am just run down (i didnt think this would cause aches and pains). Also i was made redundant in november.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi CM

Thanks for the reply, I started on medicine from the doctor i cant remember what this was called it began with a F. This caused me to feel dizzy so the doctor then put me on Omemprezola and yes the aches did start from then as well.

I will book in to see the doctor again as the aches have eased off a bit but still getting aches in my hands and feet...

I'm not on statins.

Thanks again CM

Hi Bob,

I also have Acid Reflux. Did these muscle aches start when you began the Omemprezole ? Are you taking a statin drug?  I ask this because Statins are notorious for aches and pains or you may be allergic to the Omeprazole.

Sometimes when such a devastating loss happens we spiral into depression. With depression comes a plethora of ailments all due to stress overload. Maybe for a short while it might be something to discuss with your doctor. He may be able to prescribe a mild anti-depressant to get you through this profound sadness.

My sincere Condolences on the loss of your child.

My condolences.  How sad to lose a baby to our enemy, death.  1 Cor. 15:26 says that this last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing."   Jehovah God will resurrect your baby in his Paradise on earth in the near future.
Your day to day stress can cause not only depression, but also pain.
The swollen glands are usually caused by some infection in the body - it could be something as small as a bug/mosquito bite.
I hope and pray that you and your wife will consider the Scriptures and find comfort.

Acid reflux is usually due to insufficient stomach acid.  My mother is free of severe GERD and severe LPR increasing stomach acid with betaine HCI with pepsin supplements and improving digestion with digestive enzymes.

A good article to read through is by Gallbladder Attack - Stomach Acid. Here is an excerpt...

"Too much stomach acid? Really? I mean, how is it that millions of people on PPIs are making too much HCl? Hyperchlorhydria or too much stomach acid is rather rare. If you're overeating, eating junk food or other food that is hard to digest, eating when stressed, living under stress, chances are much greater that you don't make enough hydrochloric acid or digestive enzymes and your symptoms stem from that."
