HELP ME I'M IN GREAT PAIN!

i'm 30 yrs old and i have serve almost constant pain on the right side, by the bottome of my ribs. i also have it in the back and a pressure feeling in my right shoulder. i'm hardly eating, and im vomiting a great deal. i went to the ER three times already and they did blood test, which showed low possium levels, a urine test, normal, a ct normal, and a ultra sound and xray all normal. they gave me pain meds but they don't work. i'm thinking of going back in because it's all getting worse. i can't get in to my doctor until the 8th of jan 09. i am really suffering here, and all i want is for this damn hospital to treat me like i'm not going crazy. i read some other's reports and i don't think i am. how can i convince them that i'm not? also, what do u think it is? i've looked up gallbladder disease and i fit every symptom...what gives? thanks.

thank you both for your helpful advice. i too have to push on my stomach when the pain comes. i had last year, kidney stones, two kids, and my appendix out. this feels alot like the cramps from contractions but too high up. my appendix didn't hurt much, just vomited alot.

i know this can be many things, and i know the list. i also know my symptoms fit perfectly to gallbadder things. i'm going to the doctor on the 8th so at least i have that. if it gets too bad i'll treck back into the ER. worthless as that is. they always send me right back home saying to go see my doctor.

I had gallstones and it felt like labor pains high in my ribs/stomach area.  It would start out dense and then intensify.  I would lay on the arm of the chair and put pressure on my upper  stomach.  It seemed to help some.

Hello,

There are many possibilities to your symptoms.Upper right abdominal pain can be caused by biliary colic, cholecystitis(inflammation of gall bladder), irritable bowel syndrome, hepatitis(inflammation of the liver), kidney stones, pneumonia, musculoskeletal pain, lower rib fracture and malignancy.Irritation of the nerves supplying this area can also cause pain.Irritation can be due to nerve compression or pinching due to any spine related pathology.

Confirmation can be done only after ultrasound or CT abdomen.Blood tests may also be required in some cases.Till the time you consult a doctor, pls take some over the counter pain reliever like ibuprofen or diclofenac. For gall bladder pathologies, pls avoid eating fatty, oily food.Instead take wholesome, nutritious food. Eat small nutritious meals at frequent intervals instead of a heavy single meal. Exercise frequently and take your dinner atleast 2 hrs prior to bedtime.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
