Has anyone experienced an unidentifiable gastrointestinal illness?

My 4 year old son and I developed some strange gastrointestinal symptoms that have been going on over the past 3 months. Bloating, large amounts of gas, frequent stools that are often skinny or loose, urge to poop but only mucus comes out. No nausea, no vomiting, only occasional diarrhea. I have had several stool studies that were all negative. I was negative for H. Pylori. I did a hydrogen breath test and came up negative for SIBO. We have no idea what is causing this and I am feeling desperate to find a solution. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this and figured out what it was?

It can be IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Pro biotics help. Especially homemade Yogurt (curd) with the liquid drained out through a thick net. You should experiment with avoiding certain foods like milk, pulses, meat and most importantly avoid all sorts of fast foods, potato chips, chocolates, sugar. Fry some Bitter gourd (bitter melon) and serve with rice. Avoid chili peppers and spicy foods.

Try the following

1 teaspoon powdered ginger, 1 teaspoon powdered cumin, 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon. Combine all three, add some honey, and mix into a thick paste. Give one teaspoon three times a day.  If this helps , i can give you another recipe to bring about further improvements. let me know.
