I don't know symptoms

Im a 25 year old female with problems of the digestive and reproductive tract for the past 4 months. For some reason I get two periods a month. The first one and the second on ovulation day and its the third month its going on. I chart my temperature every morning for the next month and I see my GYN in a month to see if I'm even ovulationing and take it from there. I'm not on any birth control pills pregnant. I was just wondering what this could be causing this. It's the first time ever had an irregular mentrual cycle. The second thing going on is I guess it's IBS with constipation is the diagnosis the docotors gave it becaause so far they can't find out whats wrong. I've had every test done under the sun. Colonoscopy, CT scan abdomen, blood work but its all normal. My body is unable to have a bowel movement with a laxative Senekot or milk of magnesium. I have a good diet. No matter how much fiber I eat what I have is a motility problem. It's not fun dealing with all the bloating, pain, ect.. I'm getting a ultrasound or anal manotry done. Anyone have any idea what these two problems can be.

Thank you for your knowledge. I am taking Wellbutrin and have been diagnosed with both those problems two years ago. I had a jaw surgery five months ago and and the problems started a month after the surgery from transitioning from the liquid to soft food diet. I've been ona normal diet for three months now. I'm having a test check the pressure of the muscles inside the intestines to see if there working properly. Anal-Rectal Manotry-something like that. I let you know how it turns out. Thanks.

Hi,

Well, a relation between IBS and menstrual cycle has been established. You see, IBS is probably twice as common in women as compared to men and it’s been noticed that the symptoms of IBS tend to flare up during the menstrual phase and it has something to do with the changes in the hormones that happens during the menstrual cycle. It is also important to know that anxiety and depression, the two common underlying reasons for IBS are also more common in women. I am not aware of IBS leading to an intermentrual bleeding. I would suggest you to consult a psychiatrist also as some antidepressants/ant anxiety drugs may also help in allaying the symptoms of IBS and may result in a normalization of the menstrual cycle.

I hope that helped. Please do keep me posted.

Kind Regards.
