Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Pain on the inner side of the ankle at the attachment of tibialis posterior muscle can cause pain when the tendon of this muscle is inflamed. This could have happened post injury. It can also be a ligament injury, especially deltoid ligament.
Please do not strain the ankle further by exercising. Consult an orthopedic specialist. You may need to immerse the foot in warm water and apply local analgesic. However since the clue to right treatment is right diagnosis do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
