Light sensitivity and eyesight problems

My eyes are very sensitive to light, but also after focusing on different light images (ie tv or computer) the imprint of the image is still there, like a floater - for example, reading this and I look away and the light image is reflected back... its very hard to explain.  Even looking out the window, then looking away the image is still there.  I also see halos at night which I explained to the optometrist but he said to just put up with it, he didn't think it was serious.  I have astigmatism and wear reading and long distance glasses.  I also get frequent ocular migraines (aura without the headache, sometimes headache follows).  Am I over reacting?  I don't think its normal?  My eyesight has deteriorated over the past couple of years.  I am 39.

have you had MRI w contrast recently or in the past few years, the metal can accumulate in your body with or without kidney problems, it does get into the eyes, and maybe you'll be told you have Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy as I was told, I have to use OTC eye drops for the pain, halos, glares, night driving is limited, currently use optive no preservatives, helps alot, but gadolinium causes other problems with muscle, bone pain, walking, balance, etc, up to 18 months p last contrasted MRI scan,SAY NO to all contrasts, inhaled, ingested, injected, local or otherwise, they are poison, see gadolinium or MRI side effect, it's willis law firm, ignore him, see sx. only thing helps me is rest, heat pad, NAC by Twin Labs, no motrin, aleve, kills the kidneys, shrinks the tubules/reduces surface area dec kidney function. read about it, fda gov blackbox warning on this junk. shame on them

I have similiar occurances been to Optomologist several times he finds nothing wrong? But wants to watch my eye. I go every 6 mos. but still have no answer.  When light is too bright, everything gets blank spots in the image, the color is missing and the image is not whole. The only thing Dr. did say he is not sure but feels optic nerve may be thinning? You should go to a specialist.Wish us luck.
