Lots of twitches

I've been noticing a lot of leg jerks/twitches and other feelings of shakiness lately. I'm a 26 yo female in good health, and I recently had a physical with blood work. I'm slightly low on iron, but otherwise everything was normal.

I've been stressed out, and I drink a little bit of caffeine daily.

Anyone think that the twitchiness could be due to exercise? I do cardio pretty much daily and this month have started strength training (with DVDs and light weights) for the first time.

The worrier in me is afraid of something nefarious, like MS.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
“A fasciculation (or "muscle twitch") is a small, local, involuntary muscle contraction (twitching) visible under the skin arising from the spontaneous discharge of a bundle of skeletal muscle fibers.” “Stimulants can cause fasciculations directly. These include caffeine, pseudoephedrine (Sudafed), amphetamines, and the asthma bronchodilators albuterol/salbutamol (e.g. Proventil, Combivent, Ventolin).” In your case probably caffeine is the culprit alonf with stress.
Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciculation
Once you cut down your caffeine and build up your lost iron by taking iron tablets and iron rich diet, you’ll be ok. Here is a link for you to go through for a complete list of iron rich food. http://www.loveyourbaby.com/iron-rich-food-list.html

Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
