Low Blood Pressure

I currently am taking 50mg. of Atenolol & 2/160mg. of Exforge for high BP. I had chemo before which raised my BP. Now I am getting Topotecan and my BP is averaging 93/71. I don't have any unualy effects of my low BP. Is this dangerous to have BP this low?

I have seen a lot worse just keep a very good eye on it 93 isn't terrible and 71 isn't either when you see ur doc again ask him what range he would like to see your bp in and which numbers are to high and which are to low so if you hit those numbers you will know ok they shouldn't be here i need to seek medical attention now that way there will no doubt where you should be with your blood pressure and what you should do

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
I agree with caregiver. Thought he BP is not dangerously low, the drugs you are taking to lower the BP may not be required in such a dose. Since the high BP was side effect of chemo, this would need monitoring and dose adjustment of BP lowering drugs.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Normally a person with 93/71 blood pressure should not be taking medications to lower blood pressure.

It is not dangerous, but your comments suggest that you need to have an immediate meeting with your physician to discuss your medications.
