Lower Abdominal Pain, right side

So Sunday night after eating some greasy chicken, I had a terrible case of diarrhea. A few hours later, after watching television in bed, laying on my right side, I began to feel a very dull pain in my lower right abdomen about an inch or two to the right of my navel and it extends from about an inch above where the navel is to about half an inch below. It wasn't severe at all and just kind of came and went. The pain didn't get better or worse when I stood up, walked, touched the area or anything else that might trigger the pain. I have had mostly normal bowel movements since then and my appetite hasn't really changed, but today the pain started going more north toward my rib cage and further to the right and back toward my kidney. While most of the time, when I press in on the pain, I feel no pain or tenderness, other times, I do. I haven't had any fever or any other symptoms really.

I am a 21-year-old male, who doesn't eat very well (have been taking some multivitamins over the past few weeks) and I haven't been all that active over the summer. Also, about a week ago, I fell asleep on a very small couch. I have taken a couple of Aleve's just in case it was muscle pain, but I haven't gotten much help from the pills.

Anybody got any ideas what this could be?

Also, does anyone know if having three CT scans in a year (two in a month) is too much radiation? None have been in the same area (one in the head, one in the chest and one in the pelvis/abdomen)?

I am really worried I may have had too much radiation over the past several months.

Update - I went to the doctor, and after a barely elevated white-blood count, normal urine sample, normal temp, and CT scan that showed nothing more than a swollen lymph node in the right side of my abdomen, I am on some antibiotics. Apparently, there is nothing wrong with appendix and nothing wrong with the intestines.

I would definately get it checked out!!! right sided pain is usually a sign of an appendicitis and if it were to rupture it can be deadly. better to be safe than sorry, I recently went to the hospital for abdominal and rectal pain that was hurendous and they found a fistula and a LARGE MASS!!! I thought oh probably nothing but get it checked out and boy was I in for a shock.

No real rebound tenderness. If there is any pain when I press in, it is while I am pressing in and just a couple of seconds afterwards, but if there is no pain, there isn't really any rebound pain. No vomiting at all and no fever (I just got a 98.9 on my thermometer). I do get some pain in my left side or right in the middle of my abdomen, but for the most part it is constricted to the right side, and while there are times when there is absolutely no pain, there are other times when it does seem to hurt a bit. For the most part, everything seems to be working properly. Just the pain.

Do you have rebound pain ot tenderness (meaning when you press in the area it dosent hurt but when you let go it does) It could be either and inflamation areound your appendix or an appedicitis...do you have fever or vomiting? Could also be mesentaric adentis (inflamation of lymph node) which consitutes for a majority of abdominal pain
