Lumps behind ear and on back of head

Hey guys what's up? I`m 18 (19 in about 5 minutes haha) and i`m a big worrier. I have 3 hard bumps behind on my right ear about the size of nickles and 2 large ones in the back of my left ear. I also have 2 lumps on the back of my head that are sometimes painful. They started to surface after my head was itching for a couple days. I`m on allegory medication and have had blood work done. The blood work came back clean so I know its not an infection. Help me out please! I also have an appointment to see a ear nose and throat doctor on thursday.

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
Lumps in that area could be a localized collection of fat, a swollen lymph node, an abscess, folliculitis (hair follicle infection) or a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in a nerve). Blood work can come normal if you have very localized infection like sometimes in a swollen lymph node or as in folliculits. At your age it can also be acne, especially if you have them on your face too. Seborrhagic dermatitis is another possibility.
Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Pediculosis of scalp can lead to lymph nodes where you mention.Treat with permethin applications and your nodes will disappear. But consult your physician.
