You need to see a doctor. Swelling in feet and ankle means you are retaining fluid. Could be you injured the area, could be related to how well your heart is working. At any rate asking this web site for answers is not the answer. Go see a doctor.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Usually conditions of heart, kidney, liver or low protein or severe anemia, which cause ankle swelling cause both ankles to swell. Hence you will need to get heart function assessed by ECHO and EKG, get kidney and liver function tests done and get a complete blood picture for anemia. Low sodium in blood, hypothyroidism and malabsorption syndromes causing low protein in blood have to be looked into.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Hope this helps. Take care!
