My left ankle only has been swollen for days now with no pain in the ankle.

I am over weight, I sit a lot, and the left side of my hip to the back hurts.  Can the swelling in the ankle be related to the hip pain?  I know sometimes it is related to weight and strain.  I don't have insurance to see a doctor.

This discussion is related to Edema of ankles or thyroid?.

Hello~I highly suspect that you have some misplaced vertebrae in your mid to lower back. I suggest you see a chiropractor and have some x-rays and adjustment, this should clear the issues up shortly after.
