Neck pain and some dizziness???

I have had some neck pain for about a year now and I have also has some dizziness every few months when I bend my head down or sideways sometimes. I also have recently have had some werid dizziness while sleeeping. It almost feels like my body  is moving and then when I open my eyes everyhting is fine....then sometimes when i bend my neck over and close my eyes it feels like my body is ,moving again. the dizzines happens when I bend my neck over and hold it there for a while then it will get sort of dizzy?? the dizziness isnt everyday or even every week...it happens every few months and it happens everytime i move my neck in a direction. i have been to a balance speicaliist and he told me I don't have an inner ear problem and I took a hearing test and that was fine too. so they don't think it is an inner ear problem...soo could it be from a bad neck...last year I went to physical therapy and they told me I had c4 and c5 neck were out of alignment. soo maybe that could be the cause?? does anyone know what it means to have dizziness when sleeping and then open ur eyes and everyhting is fine??? please someone help me...doctors nurses anyone please help!!!!!!!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If you have a cervical protusion or mal-alignment at C4, 5, and 6 then this can cause the cervical spinal nerves to be compressed as they leave the spine to supply the various parts of the body like neck, chest, arms etc. The autonomic component of the nerve (sympathetic and the parasympathetic) is responsible for causing dizziness. It is also partly due to involvement of the ear.
This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine and nerve conduction studies may be required. Please consult a neurologist. The treatment is to remove the compression. You have to discuss the best treatment option with a neurologist, which can range from medication to physiotherapy to traction, cervical collars or even surgery. Use a hard bed to sleep. Avoid a pillow. Roll a towel and place it under your neck while sleeping on the back and between head and shoulder when lying on the side. Initially this will be uncomfortable but with time the acupressure will do wonders.
It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. Hope this helps. Take care!

I am a mere child, but I can still help probaly. The dizziness only happens when your eyes are closed, right? Then maybe it is because you have a emotional problem? The alignment of your neck could also be it. Maybe you should see a therapist or eye doctor. It could help you; the smallest things can sometimes creat big finalies.
