Thanks again, i still have no headway as for a diagnosis. The most recent thing the doctor has told me is that i have cluster headaches and gave me beta blockers, which in turn have done really nothing at all for the pain. The pain is getting progressively worse as is my health and well being. I used to be such an active, healthy person but this pain has made me pale, fragile and the stress (i hope) is making my hair fall out and thin. The newest occurence to my lovely experience is that i get incredibly trembly and shaky where, even if i move my head slightly it jerks and twitches as do my limbs. As for the doctor getting paid thing, that is a really good point - i never thought of it like that. Maybe i can hassle them daily now without feeling guilty and a hyperchondriac :) the dentist has examined my jaw many a time with xrays to boot, still cant find anything wrong with it except perhaps an imapcted wisdom tooth. The trouble with pain is, people dont understand what you're going through and generally think that you're over reacting. But when they see a 19 year old male who was once a fit healthy person crying because of a 'headache', they just think i'm crazy and depressed. What a spiral. Anyway rant over thank you for the advice :) as for the vitamin thing, any excuse to sunbathe hey!
Jon.
DONT give UP!
Low vitamin D will cause skin problems....we get D from sunshine...and milk fortified with D...
Check vitamin D and calcium, and a thyroid panel...this will cause musle spasms and pain, plus fatigue.
Seriously, see a dentist, not a doctor for the TMJ....Massage and acupuncture will hep...
Remember one thing...the doctor makes no more money if he heals you...thats the bottom line, you must take charge of your own health and seek answers.
Lori
Thank you so much for your help, the pain has not subsided and my doctor has yet to take me seriously. I have recent reoccurences of a dermatitus like rash and blisters on my scalp and on my hands. I just feel like general rubbish all the the time and it seems like no-one believes that there is something wrong with me :( To be honest the chronic pressure and pain seems and feels to me like i've got a brain tumour or a tumour or growth of some sort. I can't do it any more.
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Sharp pain in the side of face could be due to injury to a nerve or pinched nerve, an infection or a trauma. Hence it could be Trigeminal neuralgia, abscess in tooth, exposed root canal, internal ear infection, maxillary sinusitis, TMJ, migraine, herpes (recurrent) without rash or fibromyalgia localized to face.
I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Take care!
Find a good dentist and massage therapist.
Sounds like T M J check it out.... you are probably clenching at night while you sleep, causing the muscles in your jaws, neck, and shoulders to pay! The pain can be debilitating.
See a good massage therapist that is certified in NMT nueromusuclar therapy.
The dentist can help greatly as well with eval and treatment.
I'm not a doctor but i would go to the ER and ask for a CAT scan and another opinion.
Hope it works out and in the future if you lay your drink down and walk away, dont come back and drink it. just go get another one.
