Pain in left knee

I have been playing football for 3 years now and no serious injuries in the past two. A few days ago i started getting a pain on my left foot about 2-3 inches above the big toe. It hurts the most when I walk up stairs or walk in general. When playing football i dont feel any pain what so ever because my mind is focused on the game. I am a Defensive linemen and i am 6'5" 290 lbs if that helps. There is no bruising or swelling. Please help me!

It sounds like a chip fracture of the metatarsal. An x-ray should be definitive. They take a LONG time to heal. I developed one on active duty with the military, and although the x-ray indicated healing, it gave me minor pain on and off for twenty years. So-called "bone tea", obtainable at health food stores, is a traditional complimentary medicine treatment.

A guy of your dimensions with a sore foot/knee could compound your injury in just moving. If you are a college athlete, your sport-medicine department probably has a skilled coach who deals with players' injuries. If not, your regular doctor should be able to offer some advice. In the end, athletes of your size may need to consult an Orthopedist. Your regular doctor has to refer persons to professional specialists, so you are better off visiting your or your team's regular doctor for help.

Good Luck.
