Pain of unknown origin

My daughter has suffered for 3 months now from bilateral face pain, headaches nausea weakness & lethargy. The pain has prevented her from eating tho the mechanism of chewing is not the issue.Multiple investigations have ruled out infection, inflammation & dental causes.Neurology conclusion - face pain of unknown origin with some trigeminal neuralgia aspects. She is 19 years old & the pain is bilateral. She is on multiple medications including Endep (has eased the headaches) tegretol, oxycontin, codeine forte. She has just ceased lyrica that had no effect and has been on prednisone for last 3 days but is now reducing off it. The day after taking the prednisone she was back to normal & painfree. The doctors won't keep her on it. Without it she is bedridden and in enormous pain. Can anyone help

thank you for listenening kjoy85. An MRI revealed some thickening in her frontal sinuses but no doctor has commented on this. I will definately take this up with the GP next week.A referral was sent to the ENT dept of the closest major hospital before Christmas but I'm not holding my breath. Last week she attended an endocrinology appointment at this hospital that was referred in October 2010 - 18months ago.

Has your daughter been checked for structural abnormalities in her sinus cavities? My mom has enlarged turbinits that cause headaches and facial pain. She should definitely see an ENT if she hasn't already.
