result of MRI

Thank you so much for your quick response.
Here is the result of MRI:
" A few abnormal signal foci in periventricular white matter more prominant at minor forceps are noted which could be related to demyelinating processes such as MS.
However, PML should be considered in DDX on based of clinical and paraclinical examinations.
No lesion or S.O.L neither in supra nor infratentorial structures are noted.
Cerebral ventricles, major intracranial vascular structures, basal ganglia and otherwise brain stem appear normal.
Both VII/VIII nerve complexes, left orbit and optic nerve and pitutary fossa appear normal as well.
I would really appriciate your response.

on the basis of her hematology and blood biochemistry tests, her doctor told us that nothing seems to be abnormal, except the traces of the inflammation that he has mentioned inreference to her MRI.
her eye nerves were also proved to be normal.
however, her doctor told us that he can't say whether my sister has got MS or not.
he said he can't diognose the disease based on thses results.
i wonder if u can help me with any tests that would be needed for the dionosis of MS.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If there are white spots on MRI, it is difficult to say whether they are due to MS or due to PML. However, PML Disease (Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopath) is more common in patients with suppressed immune systems like transplant recipients, cancer and HIV sufferers. On the other hand MS is more common in general population.
Hence since other parts of the brain are normal, the diagnosis will depend on clinical findings. Discuss this with your neurologist who can examine you to reach a diagnosis.
Take care!
