Pressure and fullness under left ribcage

For the past 4 months, Ive had pressure and fullness under my left ribcage. Occasionally this is accompanied by a stinging, twisting pain. I have already undergone a CT scan that my family doctor says looks fine. But this feeling is constant. I have a hx of chronic pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer in my family. Being that I am a mother as well as a full time RRT, I don't have time to be plagued by this. Is there any tests I should request from my family doctor? Is there anything I can say to have him take my situation seriously? Your answer will be greatly appreciated? Thanks so much for your time.

Sincerely,
Distressed Mother

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Get pancreatic and liver enzymes done. Also possibility of acidity, gastritis, GERD, and gastric reflux is there and an endoscopy may be required. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks, caffeine, and spicy food. See if this helps.
Consult a gastroenterologist. Take care!

Go to medicinenet.com and look up chronic pancreatitis. See how the information lines up with your symptoms.

You could also look up hiatal hernia too.

Having solid medical information will help you to present your case to the doctor so that he will 'hopefully' realize that you are in earnest to discover what is wrong.
