Pulse sound/hearing loss

For the last few months I have been having a problem in my neck/head area. When I bend my neck back to look up or lay a certain way, I get these sensations. The first thing is the pulse throbbing sound in my ears. It feels like pressure building up. Then my hearing starts to fade and I start to feel dizzy. I have alot of spinal issues, take morphine and vicodin for pain. But only happens with bending in the neck. Anyone ever had anything similar? By the way, my blood pressure runs low, not high. If you have an idea, or have had similar problems, let me know. I am curious before I see the doctor. Thanks.

Well you sure put some light on the subject. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if I have a bulging disc in the cervical area. I have had so many bulgings in my spine, hey what's one more.

I am not a candidate for physical therapy due to my easily aggraviated spinal problems. But I will talk to the doctor about it and see what he wants me to do. Thanks for the info.....

Your description sounds almost exactly like mine several years ago when having an MRI and MRA for my symptoms it was discovered I had bulging cervical disks. With physical therapy and an awareness of positioning at all times, the symptoms greatly diminished. I make it a point to not bend my neck backward to look up and to avoid my chin jutting forward or outward. Might be worth adding this to your list of things to be evaluated for.

Hello,

This awareness of one’s heart beat is called palpitation. It can be there after bending down or in certain postures of the body.It can also be because of anemia, abnormal levels of electrolytes like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, caffeine, tobacco and alcohol intake, stress and anxiety and hyperthyroidism.

You should take iron supplements for some days and see if the symptoms persist.

In my opinion,if the palpitations are accompanied by other symptoms like sweating, faintness, chest pain or dizziness then the serious causes have to be considered. These include heart conditions like narrowing of the coronary arteries, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardias or Wolfe-Parkinson-White syndrome and medicines like asthma and thyroid medicines.

In that case a clinical evaluation and investigations like ECG,stress echo,Hb levels, thyroid profile and blood tests measuring the levels of electrolytes are needed in confirming a diagnosis.Pls consult a physician/cardiologist for the same.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing
