Red, chapped lips

My bottom lip has been chapped and severely red for weeks. It begins to heel and then breaks out again. My lips are often dry and sore. I am getting married in three weeks and would really like to have nice looking lips rather than very red, peeling lips. Any suggestions?

Maybe it's too much kissing.  Could be his saliva.  Or it could be too much salt.  You might try taking ALA or Flaxseed.  It's supposed to be good for dry skin.

Do you take a good multiple?  You might want to start as marriage takes a lot out of you - really.
Congratulations and best wishes for a happy marriage.

Take care of yourself.

I don't chew or lick my lips. I have been applying chap stick and paw paw balm before my lips became red and sore. The lip balm eases the pain and dryness but is not heeling the red blots or peeling.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Do you chew your lip? Do you wear lipstick or other lip makeup? Is this a problem due to the winter or dry weather? Try some lip balm, many kinds in the pharmacy. You could ask the pharmacist what is recommended. Also check out if you are allergic to your make up.

Hope you look great for your wedding!

One thing you have to do is stop licking your lips.  Saliva will only dry them out more.  Get a good chap stick from the health food store - forget Chapstick brand.
Whenever you are tempted to lick your lips use the lip balm instead.  And stay hydrated.  Make sure you drink enough water every day.  And remember, sodas, coffee and tea will dehydrate you and make matters worse.  If you must drink something besides water, drink a dilute lemonade.

Wishing you the best...
