Right side chest pain, radiates to back/neck/shoulder, cannot get diagnosis

Since about Febuary/March I have been having this right side chest pain. Under my armpit and a little to the left around my breast area. It started as just a pain upon inhalation. It felt like I was being stabbed and/or my lung was too big and is just being pressed into my ribs. It feels like I can never get a full breath of air because I have to take short breaths or it will hurt too bad. It has started radiating to my back/shoulder and neck. If I hunch forward it gets really bad. When I take a deep breath it feels like I am being stabbed and then randomly it will throb around my shoulder/back and neck.
I have been tested for pleurisy, costochondritus, pleural peal and gallbladder disease. I have been on a slew of anti-inflamatories, steroids, pain killers, muscle relaxants etc etc and nothing helps. Even if I take vicodin or ms contin or put icy hot or biofreeze on it, it still doesn't help. I have been seeing a chiropractor for alignment and physical therapy for two months now and nothing is helping. It's just getting worst and worst.
Does anyone have this same problem? All of my doctors are blowing me off thinking I'm just overexagerating or something. I have no idea what to do or who to go to.
Please, if you even have the slightest idea of what this might be, I would appreciate you thoughts.

A little on my med history...
I had hodgkin's disease last year and went through chemo/radiation treatments. The cancer was on my left side and the pain is on my right. My oncologist and hematologist says the chest pain is unrelated to my cancer and treatments. My pulmonary consultant doesn't know what else to do so he is just blaming it on my radiation treatments even though they were no where near where the pain is at.

I have been going to a chiropractor for physical therapy and alignment for the last 11 weeks 4x a week and it hasn't gotten any better. If anything, it has become even worst.

I will ask my doctor's about the percarditis and subdiaphragmatic abscess and see if they agree upon the possibility and if they want to order the tests needed. Thank you for you guy's help! I really appreciate it.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Percarditis is another possibility—this is inflammation of the lining of heart. However this will also cause fever, fatigue and other symptoms.
There is a chance that you have compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine may be required for confirmed diagnosis.
Another possibility is a subdiaphragmatic abscess on your right side due to a liver problem causing pain on your right shoulder & upper chest, which radiates to your arms.
GErd is another possibility.
Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss these possibilities with your treating doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi - let me start by saying I am not a medical professional - but sometimes the musculoskeltal systems gets bunched up with all of the stuff you have been going through.  Check with a physical therapist to see if they can help you to stretch the muscle sheathing that surrounds your muscles- I think it is called myofascial therapy or release.  All GOOD physical therapists are familiar with this process.  I had a similar problem with my back and chest where I had pain and radiating pain to my back, shoulder and neck.  I went to a physical therapist and she applied some stretching to my back and chest muscles and it realeased to the point that I could breath better.  Also, many chiropractors are good at adjusting the chest and back joints where it releases and allows you to breath better.  I know it sounds weird, but for me it really worked.  It felt like a weight was lifted from my upper chest and I could take in a full breath.  It never hurts to check it out - alternative medicine does work......   Good luck!!!
