Severe pain under rib cage

Severe, breathtaking g pain on left , under rib cage for 3 wks., now went to ER in terrible pain -I was screaming it hurt so bad--there for 3 hours -took blood and XRays found nothing sent me home with ONE painpill after giving me 2 shots of Morphine in 2 hours.....I am a 72 yr. old woman with  COPD .What should I do It is debilatating?

Call your GP to get more pain medication and see if further work up is needed. if the pain is under your right ribcage could be gall bladder. But at any rate. If you're in pain you should get treatment for that it is inhumane to leave you suffering

I'm sorry you are in such pain. It actually still could be the gallbladder as I just went through this and the pain started basically where the heart is located. My mother went through this same pain last year and it was also her gallbladder. In any case, yes, call your Dr and get some pain meds. Good luck!!

I would have them check your pancreas, I had the same feeling as if I had gull stones and my gull bladder had been removed. Well I went in and got a Cat Scan I beleive is what it was, and they seen that my pancreas was enlarged and my white blood count was high as well. I would not settle for what your doctors have done. I would push to find out more with what is going on with you. We have to be our own Advocates. Good Luck and I wish nothing but the best for you. :)
