Have you ever had testing for Parkinson's Disease?
Is it possible that I have Parkinson's all these years? No never been tested..
Saw on WEB MD it's likely not Parkinson's... this is from their site:
"Essential tremor differs from the tremor caused by Parkinson's disease in the following ways:
Essential tremor may affect the head and voice. Head tremor is uncommon in early Parkinson's disease.
Essential tremor is almost always worse when the affected part of the body is in motion than when it is at rest. Tremor associated with Parkinson's disease generally decreases or disappears when the person moves the affected part of the body.
Essential tremor is faster than the tremor of Parkinson's disease.
Small amounts of alcohol can noticeably reduce an essential tremor but usually have no effect on tremor caused by Parkinson's disease.
Essential tremor does not improve in response to levodopa, but it may be relieved with other medicines (propranolol, primidone, phenobarbital, or benzodiazepines).
Unlike tremor caused by Parkinson's disease, essential tremor will sometimes occur in family members."
I have problems doing some activities as well... For eg when I try to hold a bowl of hot soup, my brain will start shaking and I lack the focus to perform the task properly.... Does anyone here think I could have Alziemier's disease??
hi there, i get the whole list of things as you, i hvae been to the doctors a few times, and to see a specialist, and still nothing has been sorted, they have tried giving me propranolol (beta blockers) and to be honest the shaking just got a little worse during te period i was taking them. i am due into the doctors again this afternoon. i have now had these head shakes for 3 years, and i really dont know how much more i can take. Not only is it unbelievebly irritating but i also find it extremely embarrasing. As i Said almost all my symptoms are the same as yours, but i donot have problems when holding anything although i do get a slight stammer when im talking if my head starts shaking, although inthink this is a concentration thing rather than part of the problem. if you ever get it sorted and find out what it is PLEASE PLEASE let me know so i can try getting rid of this ASAP. Many thanks
My head just feels like something is constantly shaking inside.... Its like a force pulling me inside my head...Not sure which part of the head the problem comes from... Feel like giving up...When can I ever feel normal again.....
I've had the same symptoms you guys mentioned above. It's not a constant shaking, but it usually happens when I need to use a computer, read, or talk to someone. When I walk, sometimes I feel the steps resounding inside my head, it's extremely irritating. I've been having a hard time to concentrate at work. I've had this problem before as isolated episoded that lasted for a week, but I'm afraid it's more serious now. I'm not facing a serious period of stress at work, I'm not dieting, I don't smoke, so I don't really think it's related to any of these factors, but I don't believe it's psychological either. I haven't seen a doctor yet, because I don't even know how to describe what I feel...
I had this condition for many years and assumed it was a sign of impending doom. As you know its highly embarrassing and most of the time I was unaware 'I was doing it', It took me years to pinpoint the cause. It stemmed from a friend who failed at selling Vitamin tablets giving away his sales-stock to others. Thinking I was doing the 'right thing' I got from him about 25 assorted packs, enough to last for years. It appears that you can overdose on vitamins, and IRON in excessive doses is the culprit. I took the normal dose mind you as indicated on the packets, but took them for too long and to regularly. You need one tablet a week, not one every day. The high IRON content seeps into your brain tissues from your blood stream and is stored there. Lower your iron intake and your symptoms will fade away. Another culprit is the YEAST BASE in vitamin tablets, its unwise to use yeast based tabs. Some of the tabs I swallowed were pure IRON, its chemical [tab] name is Ferro? something. A Iron supplement as given to pregnant mothers.
