Sinus Pain but no Congestion

So for several years now I've suffered from pain in my upper cheeks, forehead, and the bridge of my nose. There is noticeable swelling in those areas but it is minor. My father and sister deal with sinus problems but up until recently I didn't think this was sinus related because I have no nasal congestion but the pain is exactly where all my sinuses are. I saw an ENT recently who told me that I have a slightly deviated septum but I doubt that could be causing all of these problems. I drink plenty of water, I've tried decongestants, the ENT I saw prescribed an anti-inflammatory nasal spray (barely helped), I've tried pain killers which don't do much if anything, I've tried cold compresses, hot compresses. Nothing seem to works and this is making my day to day life a struggle. I'm looking for any suggestions, thanks.

Hey thanks for the response,

I have an appointment to see the same ENT next Friday the 17th and I'll discuss my options with him some more. I have problems believing that the deviated septum is the cause of all of this but I could be wrong. My symptoms are quite bad to the point of my day to day life being a struggle. This is why I'm desperate for some answers or any relief. I appreciate the suggestion about the alternative therapies though, I will go ahead and post something similar over there to see if anyone has any ideas. Thanks

Hi,
Did you consider going to another ENT for a second opinion? With the deviated septum, if the medication isn't helping they would usually suggest
surgery (septoplasty) ~ but I suppose that depends on how severe your symptoms are and how badly you feel...
If surgery isn't an option, I wonder if there's an alternative treatment you could try? Have you tried posting over at the 'alternative therapies' forum?
There's a bunch of really helpful people over there, and the response time is usually pretty rapid.
Good Luck
