Smelly yellowish pellets coming up from chest/throat

For years now I've asked this question of  many doctors/dentists and it still remains to be answered...Quite frequently I get really bad breath for around a week which is followed by expulsion of very hard, yellowish in colour, very smelly pellets from my throat and/or chest. Sometimes it is followed by a bad sinus infection and /or bronchitis, but not always! It is very unpleasant and I would just love to get rid of this problem. I should also mention that I've had phlegm non-stop in my throat for as long as I can remember, I don't know if this could possibly be associated with this condition/problem...I am not a smoker/nor do I live in a smoke-filled environment.

Haha... Who knew I could successfully google "stinky hard balls from the throat" and end up with all of you!

I have had this problem since 1995 and never knew what it was!  It doesn't happen on a regular schedule for me...just out of nowhere I'll kinda feel something at the top of my throat - much like if a popcorn husk gets stuck - and I make a horrible coughing/hacking sound and poof the ball appears, normally. Yesterday, I yelled at my daughter and out came a cluster of them.  There were maybe 8 to 10 of them and man did they SMELL!  I am not good with gross or smelly things, but I can't help but always smash these balls and take a whiff.  I totally grossed my husband out yesterday! haha  They are just so dang weird.  I am almost 40 so I am sure my ENT will not even consider getting my tonsils out, but I am going to try.  I have horrible sinus problems to begin with, maybe no adenoids and no tonsils will help!

Good luck to us all.

ive had this problem for about 6 or so years since my early 20s. had a history of sore throats and allergies shots as a child (oh boy) our tonsils are part of our immune system. our parnets generation had them removed. where do u suppose those tonsils went? im sure whatever problem we are having now was created with our parents tonsils in labs. just like the mad cow came after all the "alien" mutilations

Hi,
I am so happy to had a mind to Google  this problem in regards to Whitish-yellowish at time pellets that are coughed up.  I am no smoker nor have I ever been.  At home no smoking is in the house to anyone visiting!  I never had this problem in the past. I am grateful to receive all of the "gold" of  information & suggestions.  Thank you!   I know of Tonsils yes but, I  have not known what part of the mouth that you'd actually push on. Wow!   Is that  OK to do?  Someone mentioned how they pushed and pushed until it came out.  Are you referring to somewhere it the top of the mouth perhaps past the pallet of your mouth.  Like down your throat or something.

These things are awful!!! I just googled "pellets in throat" and found you all. I've suffered for a few years from these dreaded, awful smelling things. I've never smoked so I don't think that has a darn thing to do with it. I've always gotten sore throats, swollen tonsils, etc. I'm wondering if the answer is to just get my tonsild removed. I'm 31 years old. Does anyone know how/why important it is to keep the tonsils?? Do I really need them back there?

I have had the same issues as you all....the little mysterious white/yellow balls from my throat.  to add to it I think I may have PND (Post Nasal Drip).  So I stopped having dairy about 6 weeks ago. and haven't had one of those little balls for about last 4 weeks?  It's been great! But I love my cheese so I am suffering, but will eventually reintroduce it VERY slowly to see what happens.  No dairy is great for that but still hasn't helped my excessive mucus problem.  Must keep trying though.  Thanks for posting.... like you all..it's nice to know you are not as Freakish as you think you are!! lol.
