Sore Throat and Neck

Okay it has been about 4 days now and i am not getting better. First it started with a little throat irratation, and that turned into swelling (hurts a little when i swallow) and i feel that my throat is swollen on both sides but on the outside i feel pain and a swollen little lump on the right side, which is more sore than the left. It hurts to turn my head and sometimes when i walk the pain from my neck goes into my  right ear and right temple. I have not been dizzy, nor feeling nausea, but i have had regular diarrhea. I am not into taking meds, so I didn't want to waste a trip to the doc. office if i am just going to get some Motrin. If anyone has advice as to what this could be and weather or not i need to seek a physician, i would greatly appreciate your time along with comments. Thank you.

Please get your thyroid checked. I used to have so many colds, sore throats that would not get better.

it do sound like you have an infection in your throat and maybe your ears, the lump could be a swollen gland but as londres said after four days and it havent cleared you should go to the doctors.

Any temp?

Are you drinking fluids ok?  I would be concerned about dehydration especially with the diarrhea.

Are you eating light?  i.e. soups.

After four days of this in my opinion, you should see a physician.

I can't predict what the physician's recommendations will be though, hopefully not "just take motrin."
