Chills, high iron but normal ferritin, loss of appetite

I'm desperate to know what is going on with my body.
Situation: tired with any amount of exertion, like climbing one flight of stairs, fatigue can hit like a brick wall, out of breath
pads of hands and bottoms of feet have become tender
I get chills off and on throughout the day every day. Sometimes I sweat and get chills. Sometimes I pee and get chills, sometimes I do nothing and get chills. Hands and toes get very cold at night.
Base of thumbs and knuckles have become achy and sore to touch suddenly - never did this before.

Medically: my iron and iron saturation are high. saturation is 94%. uibc is very low at 17. BUT ferritin is normal at 60.
Bloodwork proves hashimotos thyroiditis which I've known and been on med for years. Symptoms are new though. Positive ANA. negative for lots of other autoimmune issues.

I just want to have energy to play with kids on the beach this week, scared of what the heat might do to me. SOOOO tired of being tired and not knowing that anything will help. Family doc, rheumy and neurologist don't seem to know how to help.

Oh! and now I've begun to loose weight because I can't seem to want to eat anything. Use to not have this problem. Get terrible indigestion, lots of burping, air in stomach.

Look into Hematochromatosis  (Iron overload).
Your labs and most of your symptoms are consistent with this condition when the following is taken into consideration:
Levels of ferritin usually do not rise until iron stores are fairly high.
Therefore, the levels of ferritin may be normal  in the early stages of Hemochromatosis.

I suggest you ask your doctors to rule this out, but I think you need to do iron panels for a couple months, in order to establish trending, if it is still indeterminate at the present time.

You may also have under-regulated Hypothyroidism.
Can you specify what your latest labs are if it is periodically monitored?
If not , I suggest you have a serious discussion with your doctor.
Under-regulated hypothyroidism will leave you in limbo and your health
will continuously deteriorate. And unfortunately this is a certainty, when thyroid function is low.
And if your diet includes refined carbs and sugars, think again.
You may, unknowingly be exasperating or inviting more Autoimmune Disease!
Finally have your gastric acid levels checked.
You may want to do a Betaine HCL (OTC) challenge.
Follow the label instructions and try it for a few days and if you feel better and your digestive symptoms improve, you likely have low gastric acid.

I hope this helps,
Niko
