Swollen Lymph Nodes

I am a 31 year old female and for the last 4 years I haven't been myself. I am always tired and weak. Some days I ache all over. My Dr only wanted to put me on depression meds instead of running test. I started having problems with my throat 1 year ago such as feeling like something is stuck on the right side, problems swallowing, and problems with gagging.I had my thyroid checked and bloodwork came back normal, but he said I had a lumpy thyroid and didn't do any more tests for anything. It has gotten so bad that brushing my teeth makes me gag and I can't stand for anything to touch my neck. Now I have a swollen lymph node on right side of my neck which has become visible. It feels hard. Some days I feel nauseaous, stomach hurts on left side and I feel like I'm on fire and about once a week I'll have a low fever and my hair is falling out and I'm gaining weight even though I dont eat much, usually once a day.  I've not been sick and haven't been on any medications. Just an occassional excedrine for the headaches. I've read alot of the other posts and am now worried. I'm gonna call the Dr and see if I can get an appointment. Everyone is in my prayers.

I would get to a specialist since your doctor doesn't seem to be listening to you. An ENT would be great also an Endicrinologist with specialized in deep rooting problems with your system. Good luck I hope you find relief soon.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Neck lymph nodes can be the result of tonsillitis, pharyngitis (infection of upper throat), infection in mouth, caries in tooth, internal ear infection, outer ear infection, eczema, dermatitis, dandruff, breast cancer, fungal infection, other cancers like lymphoma etc. If you had flu like symptoms initially then it could be due to infectious mononucleosis too.  Thyroid cancer is another possibility since you have a lumpy thyroid.
Please discuss this with your doctor.
The enumerated the possibilities can be investigated or ruled out one by one by your physician and dentist by running some tests.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.  Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
