Swollen pubic mound and Flu like symptoms?

I developed a swollen pubic mound about a week ago, the area is very firm, a little red and very tender, the swelling and tenderness now seems to have started spreading upwards. I also have developed flu like symptoms with low grade fever (37.5 to 37.9), fatigue, everything aches, dry cough, breathlessness and yesterday I started with pain in the lower abdomen on the left side. I am on immunosuppressant medication due to suffering Chronic Graft Versus Host Disease after a Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplant in 2001 to treat Lymphoplasmacytoid Lymphoma. Any advice as to what this may be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can only tell you due to my experience but I am not a doctor.  I do not know if you are male or female but mine comes from a virus.  I was checked and it is like herpes but not herpes and it is not a sexual disease.  They said it was a low immune system and a viral infection that comes out on or around the pubic part.  I use an antibiotic cream and I don't know if I am supposed to or not but I break them first.  It really hurts but then they go away.

I would go to the ER could be life threatening if it is an infection. This is certainly possible becasue you are immunocompromised and could be very serious.

You need to call your docter and go see a medical professional NOW. You are describing an infection, It sounds like a possible MRSA infection. If you have MRSA, It can be seroius.  iIt can spread to your blood, you can develop septicemia, a seroius blood infection that requires hospitilization for IV antiobotic administration.
