help with the diagnosis of these symptoms

My Mom is 70 years old.  She has episodes that come and go without warning.  Her teeth start to hurt, her jaw hurts, she feels like she is going to pass out(which she hasn't yet), her arm and leg tingle on her left side. she gets the chills. Her chest feels like it is filling up, and her breathing gets more difficult (like an asthma attack)  Her blood pressure gets high.  She takes an Excederin, which she says keeps her symptoms from getting worse.

She has had CAT scans, MRI, MRA, which showed deep brain tissue swelling.  She was tested for Lymes disease, which was negative.  Her neurologist, doesn't seem to know what is wrong.  She is seeing another neurologist, and going back to her cardiologist.

Any help is appreciated-Thanks

After 4 months of doctors appointments and testing, we don't have any answers yet

Did she have echocardiogram or cardiac catheterization?  Cardiac enzymes?  Symptoms are pretty classic for heart attack.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Well, symptom wise they do sound like transient ischemic attacks or ministroke. Since she is being evaluated for it, the cause of deep brain swelling will need to be evaluated.
Other than this, it can be a hormonal problem due to menopause, a very bad gastric reflux, cavities in her tooth causing problems, or a panic attack.
Since I cannot examine your mother and know other related conditions she may be having, nor is a detailed history possible on net, I would suggest you take a second opinion from an internal medicine specialist, apart from the neurologist you are seeing. Take care!
