Flashing lights in Right Eye only

I experienced like Flashing lighs in right eye this morning which made it difficult to see and lasted for about 20 minutes.
Am unsure what this is and possibly migraine? but no headache.
I experienced the same thing after a run about a month ago.

I'm on levothyroxine due to thyroid surgery and suffer from Mild mitral value disease with mild prolapse.

Thanks for your feedback..
This is happened before and usually straight after my run in the morning.. Maybe over-exertion??
Note the flashes of light are on the edge of my vision

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
You must rush to an ophthalmologist or eye specialist immediately. Flashes or light in the eye are taken to be due to retinal detachment or a tear in the eye until otherwise proved. It could also be due to aura of migraine, diabetic retinopathy or due to vitreous detachment seen with high myopia.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Flashing light symptoms in eyes should be checked immediately as it
could be due to retinal detachment as far as I know.   Your doctor can guide
you better, so have a check up...  nothing to lose.
