Ulcers?

Hi everyone.

I get at least 3 ulcers every month and its starting to irritate me. I was just wondering if anything could be causing this? I've read that it can be caused from stress which I have none of or it can be lack of vitamins.

This is probably not related at all but if I press slightly under the left side of my jaw it hurts quite a bit and I've had this for about 9 months to a year. The other side of my jaw is fine (the people I have asked and pointed at the location of the pain have said they think its the gland that is there).

Thank you :)

Thank you for your replies! Haha no I drink rarely was first name that came to my head :)
And it could be iron deficiency because I've been low in iron for a while so I'll try and sort that out with my doctor! Thanks!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Recurrent mouth ulcers could be due to iron and Vit B deficiency or poor oral hygiene, or could be due to Herpes infection or could be the result of abrasion from a mal-aligned tooth or an old tooth brush. Take iron and multivitamin pill and see if it helps. Change your tooth brush. Practice good oral hygiene. Test for Herpes. Avoid spicy and too hot food. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.  Do consult your PCP and a dentist. Take care!

well, with a name like vodkashots, id wonder if it is caused by drinking?? if not, theres a lot of things that can cause ulcers. have your dr check out the jaw problem, there is a few not so common issues that will cause ulcers throughout the body directly related to the stuff in the jaw area. theres glands, lymph nodes, thyroid, and a few more things in that area, so theres a few conditions that could be causing the issues. another thing is your dr shouldve told you what is causing your ulcers. not only does testing tell you have ulcers, but it can tell you what kind. ulcers dont just come from stress or lots of caffeine, they can also be from a bacterial infection, and if it is, you have to take a bunch of pills to kill the infection. also, a few of the not so common conditions im referencing (sorry, cant remember the names) cause recurring ulcers, but are not usually limited to stomach ulcers. ulcers will appear in other parts of the body, such as kidneys, adrenal glands, etc.
