Sore Hand (finger)

Hello, I recently woke from a bad night's rest just to find that I have a sore on my left pointer finger. Its mid-point on my finger preventing me from bending it all the way. When I attempt to bend my finger it hurts like crazy, this feels almost like a hair bump on the inside of my hand. Very uncomfortable. This bump doesn't have a head to it like other bumps I've experienced in the past.

It sounds like an infection of some kind. I had my ring finger swell up suddenly and had intense pain when I tried to bend it. I took antibiotics and it cleared up quickly.

Thanks for your feedback! I was able to obtain antibiotics from my mother in which the swelling has gone done drastically. The sore is still visible though I can see that it should be cleared up in a matter of days (1 week). Something tells me this was a bite of some kind.

Thank you both for your quick responses!

Hey there!
If it's very well circumscribed [like a bump] maybe it is a bite or at worst a cyst coming off of a joint. If it is starting to swell more, or you are having other symptoms, then you should see a dr right away. I have had those before, and I put cortizone on or calamine lotion, which takes down the inflammation. If it's really bad, you can get an injection of cortizone or topical antibiotic from a dermatologist or gp.
Hope this helps.... keep us updated on what happened!
