Vomiting and other Symptoms for months

I am a 22 yr old F, and for the past yr I ahve had 3 episodes of random vomiting, and nausua, and pain in the abdomen. It started orignally with just vomiting and pain on the right side. I had every test that they could think of, they thoguht it was my appendix, checked that it was fine, gallbaldder, that was find, kidneys that was fine. So after a few weeks it all went away and I was ok. Then a few months later, I wasn't feeling well and I got sick again. That time it was worse cuase I was throwing up everything I was eating or drinking. They again did many test, including an Upper GI, and found nothing that epoisde lasted close to 6 wks. Now jump to present time, I  got sick around March 14- started with just being tired, then I started throwing up, and the pain came. Then went to get seen(I am in the National guard) and I was training at the time this occoured and I was seen and they did a urine test, and found trace amounts of blood in my urine. They then gave me meds for the nausa and put fluids in me. I was still throwing up and still not eating much. The thing is I tried the whole brat diet( and it didnt work) went back in 3 days later- still no changes, more meds again, and then  they decided that again they would due another urine test. Again blood in the urine. *just trace amounts. So I came home a few days after that,Seen my doctor and did a urine test, and again trace amounts of blood in the urine. The thing is I have pain on the right side of my abdomen, and its upper on the high side just beow my ribcage that goes around and down towrds my groin. My dr. has set me up with the GI specaist again. But I am just not sure waht to think. ANY one else have ideas??

Well I went in today to see the GI specilst. And he really isn't sure what is going on. As of right now he wants to do a few more test. One of them is this friday, a small bowel series, I guess I have to drink Barium and then they do Xrays. He is more concred with the trace amounts of blood in my urine. So I am really not sure waht to do. The next step after this fridays test is a Stomach empyting test. where I have to eat something then they do xrays. Hopefully they get all this figured out soon..

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Pain in upper abdomen with blood in urine can be due to Crohn’s disease or IBS. Crohn’s disease is a difficult entity to diagnose. Along with gut symptoms skin disorders and arthritis too are commonly seen with Crohn’s. An upper GI series using barium dye is done to see the condition of small intestines. The degree of involvement of the large and small intestine may vary from person to person.  A biopsy is the most confirmatory.
An elevated ESR does confirm inflammation in the body. Low protein, minerals and iron in blood are the other findings in Crohn’s which may or may not be present. A recent advancement in Crohn’s diagnosis is video capsule endoscopy.
Stone in the urinary system too can cause pain along with vomiting. Hence a CT scan of abdomen should be done.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
