What does this sound like??

I received a call to pick up my bloodwork today. I have a high platelet count, high WBC count, low lymphocytes and a high TSH again, which means I will probably be going back on my thyroid medication. Is the platelet count and WBC related to my thyroid? I have had menstrual type bleeding for 16 days now and my doctor isn't seeming to help. I have taken multiple at-home pregnancy tests but they all come back negative. I was worried about a possible very early miscarriage since I have no other signs of infection and that may be linked to the prolonged bleeding? Do I need to ask my doctor about a miscarriage or am I worrying too much?

I am on birth control pills (Ortho Tri-Cycln Lo) and I have NOT had my yearly pap smear yet. Monday, I am supposed to have a walk-in appointment with my doctor and discuss things with her. While I was on thyroid medication before, I still had prolonged vaginal bleeding. Not until I had the Mirena IUD put in did the bleeding stop. I recently had it removed and started on the pill.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Severe dehydration can cause a high cell count. Another possibility is myeloproliferative disorders of the bone marrow. Since you also have prolonged vaginal bleeding, I have a feeling that you could be having endometriosis, which can have high platelet and high WBC. It can also be rheumatoid arthritis.Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is another possibility.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Maybe you can seek another opinion and consult a gynecologist. Take care!

In my opinion, all this is thyroid related.

Your concern about miscarriage is warranted.  I would recommend discussing this concern with your physician.
